BBC News are leading their main bulletin tonight with the increase in the Unemployment Figures.
Sky News, however, seem to think that Madonna and Guy Ritchie's divorce is the single most important thing going on today.
Dennis Potter called his cancer "Rupert" after Rupert Murdoch.
Just thought I'd mention these things.

Interesting how some parts of the media seem to be determined to distract us from the misery of the economic climate with stupid celebrity stories, whilst others juat put the word RECESSION in big letters and do graphics with old £20 notes falling down.
I'm not in the slightest interested in Madonna, but really I don't want to know how many people's homes have been repossessed either, both aspects seem as hysterical and speculative as each other really. Maybe I'm just feeling jaundiced by the news in general...
(Sorry for lack of commenting lately, I lost your blog address and only found it when you commented on AC's blog the other day :-) )
I've given up on most of the news now. Terrible really. Every morning in recent weeks I've had John Humphrys or Evan Davies wake me with ever more depressing news.
But I think the Credit Crunch and Madge have been passed over for Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross now.
Ah well.
