I can feel it -- the turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, the entire planet is hurtling around the Sun at sixty-seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me. Clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go...

I loved Bagpuss, but my philistine children thought it was boring! Sad that Mr Postgate is no longer with us. Lovely tribute with my favourite ever Bowie song :-)
Strangely, when I posted the link to the Bowie/Noggin mash up, I did wonder what you'd make of it. As I posted a long time ago, I was brought up on BBC1, outwith Doctor Who, my tv memories were of Noggin the Nog, Poggles Wood and Bagpuss. I loved the work of Oliver Postgate and Peter Firman, all the time and care they invested in the Cow Shed producing such beautiful films.
Oliver's autobiography is brilliant. My battered hardback copy sits proudly on the shelf, he was a gentleman, and a man of peace. He was a huge influence on my life, in fact, going back to my MySpace page, I have, since Day One, listed my occupation as "Bagpuss look-a-like"
If you can track down his book, give it a wee shufty. He was lovely.
I didn't ever watch Noggin the Nog, but the others are very familiar and magical. I must look for that book. I saw a TV programme where he was interviewed a few years ago and he came across a a lovely person.
